The Rye High School Mathematics Department provides rigorous mathematical instruction appropriate to each student’s level of ability.   Within each of our courses, we incorporate active learning strategies, real world applications, technology, and innovative visual approaches to enhance the learning experience, while fostering a deeper understanding of the material being taught.  We create an environment of collaboration in which students are  encouraged to think critically and to approach each problem arithmetically, analytically, graphically, and verbally.  In our honors and AP classes, higher order thinking skills are stressed in problem-solving and there is a substantial exploration of additional related topics at an advanced level.   In addition, we offer general math resources for extra support, such as links for instructional videos and related practice. All necessary materials can be found on each teacher’s Google Classroom page. A drop-in Math Lab is available during each period to provide extra support to all students.
