School Counseling

Welcome to the School Counseling Department. The department consists of six school counselors and two Senior Office Assistants. School Counselors at Rye High School are focused on the student's total development: intellectual, physical, emotional, and social. They work to assist students to assume responsibility, develop to their highest potential, take an active role in the school community, and be prepared for their future roles in society. Counselors advocate for students in a variety of personal, social, and educational roles.

The School Counselors are experienced in assisting students to select courses of study that are best suited to their interests, abilities, and personal goals. The Counselors work closely with students, parents, and faculty members, advising students to select course levels and sequences that are appropriate and help them achieve their goals. The Counselors also assist  students in evaluating and selecting the appropriate post-secondary choice, exploring a variety of opportunities and considering individual student interests and values.
